Message from former Bissa President

BISSA President – 2017-2018

“I Won’t Be Impressed with Technology Until I’m Able to Download Snacks and food from The Internet.” These words by Carlos Banks pushed me to birth my technology career doing computer studies in my high school as my TCA subject. Fast forward I joined the UON-SOB with an aim of being information system Admin thereafter.Out of the desire to learn and implement good practices that can enhance product and service delivery in an organization, with a few students with the same mind set we revived the already dying BISSA and we started running campaigns on having more students join the association. We built a strong community which turned out to be a young technology family within the school of business.

My experience as the BISSA President for the year 2017-2018 thought me consistence, patience and positive presence in whatever operations we carried on. “Pivot to Business” stands for, is a strong base for many students who would wish to take their technology career to the next level. Perhaps a word for any creative upcoming technocrat within the university, in the words of John Nash “Classes will dull your mind. Destroy the potential for authentic creativity.” Get out of the classroom walls, give your best shot and show the world your beautiful mind.

Being in BISSA has equipped me with the skills and tools to build whatever I set my mind to. The connections I made along the way turned into what I’m quite sure will
be life-long friendships. 10/10 would recommend.

BISSA is a professional body and club that provides a well-coordinated support hub for IT students to engage, explore and evolve as responsible IT professionals with creative and innovative minds to contribute to the national-socio economic development
